They are indeed very similar in specs. The difference is the cedar mill core uses a new manufacturing process of 65nm as compared to the 90nm of the prescott. This means that the cedar mill can run at lower voltages and also produce less heat than the prescott processor. Performance wise there won't be a significant difference so I would probably pick the cheaper processor.
