Ideas for i-club poker tournament.

Poker Meet 6/20. Kenji815's House
Time: 6 PM
PM me for detail

Since we haven't gotten together. I been thinking about the ideas of the i-club poker tournament.

Rules are as follow:

Each game will have a time limit of 4 hours.

Buy in for each game will be $20 with no rebuy.

The game will be tournament style with everyone starting with equal amount of chips.

At the end of 4 hour game we will count the chips to figure out the winner.

At the end of the 4 hour game there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner.

1st place will get 50% of the winning
2nd place will get 30% of the winning
3rd place will get 20% of the winning.

In event there is 2 players left in the end of the 4 hour game, they can either decide to split the pot 60/40 or go head to head.

Every half hour to hour we will raise the blind (depending on pace of the game)

it would be better to run just a normal tournament monthly instead of 4 different games and whatnot, just $40 straight up buy in and 10% payout schedule

im down for a poker tournament, but having games on multiple days might not work out. if you miss one day because of a scheduling issue, you're pretty much out.

normal tournament is better, finish it in one night. when u increase blinds based on time, it wont last that long.

Revised some rules.. see post #1

rules are better, but change the blinds moving depending on the pace of the game. it needs to be a fixed amount for a fixed time. kind of unfair to change the blinds based the pace and who would really decide how much to increase it by.

i usually play in home games that raise the blinds when a player is knocked out

i think after our 1st game we can set that..
cuz right now i'm unsure of the chip value that we will be using.
Originally i was thinking raising the blind every half hour.
so in 4 hour game the blind will go up 7 times.

but maybe that's too much?
or raising the blind once per hour.

sigma pi 05-19-2009 10:09 AM

once an hour we will have to raise it by a lot each time
