I went with the Stoptech slotted rotors. I forget how much I paid for them. Came out to a little more than $200 for the fronts. Stoptech rotors are rebranded Centric rotors with some price inflation. The other rotors I've heard about are the DBA4000 Series rotors. Better rotors, but it is also reflected in the price. I think that comes out to about $270 per the pair. Give a call to your local shops. Remember that pads and rotors should be paired together for your unique usage.

Don't waste your time on slotted rotors, the company I work for manufactures these parts and to be honest, Save yourself some money. Get stand brake discs and either ceramic brake pads or OE stuff.

Were you just looking for blanks? or slotted rotors?

In the end, you get what you paid for. I run DBA 4000 rotors with Axxis Ultimas pads that are about to be replaced with Hawk HP+ pads. Also, braided brake lines and better brake fluid make a world of difference as well and IMHO are needed to take full advantage of upgraded rotors/pads.

^^^ is right...you need to choose rotors based on your intended usage. Correct me if I am wrong, but Stoptech rotors are pretty much slotted version of the stock rotors; meaning size and internal venting design of the rotors does not change [so you might not notice THAT much improvement from those rotrs alone]. DBA rotors are more expensive because they are better engineered; have better/unique venting design that helps them dissipate heat faster and be more effective over a prolonged hard use.

Again don't waste your money on oe sized slotted or even modified air gap or vane designs. Because the size is the same as stock, you won't disapte heat enough to notice the difference. Just get regular oe replacement brake discs. Good pads and maybe be gangster and treat yourself to steel braided brake hoses. Stopping good isn't because of brakes alone, it has to do with tires.

Well, I was referring to stock WRX rotors [I never owned an STi], however, I thought that even some Brembo stuff is being made by Centrix now?
Very well might be...but IMHO DBA rotors have made a big difference for me when I used them hard enough for a lengthy time such as a mountain run...than again, I have all of the other brake system components replaced as well...Best stock replacement/use rotors that I experiences have been Brembo blanks [which support your argument about quality oe replacements], but I think they are made by Centrix now as well...
However, I agree with LifePlaza overall...stopping does not depend on a single component alone, it is the combined force of everything else; pads, lines, fluid, tires, skill, etc...You can slice and dice which single product is "better" until eternity, but won't mean much if you do not think about the system as a whole.

DBA is not made by centric parts.
DBA has a patent on their vane design which is derived off a tear shape vane design commonly used in ferraris and vipers. As far as my research has found they are the only "gray market" product to sell this design on the oe sized replacement market. Companies even like AP or even dixel have been trying to buy the patent for years.Since DBA has a lock on that patent, other companies are now trying to create a niche way of saying their product performs the same as DBA even though they are stock replacement blanks that are supposedly heat treated, slotted or manufactured differently so people think they are better.
DBA is good because they actually change the OE design while retaining OE fitment dimensions. All the others are just gimmicks.
