Everything listed on the subaru website plus more (I don't know what's consider more). Car rental, free oil change (because I have a coupon).

laoba 04-11-2005 12:12 PM

looks like oil change/filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, the rest is all inspection. umm how do they justify $525? the free car wash?

hey1 04-11-2005 12:15 PM

just get it done at suby specialties.. they're certified and they'll keep the record for you that you're maintaining your car.

sigma pi 04-11-2005 12:36 PM

the plugs list at 28$ a piece so tahts alot of the cost air filter lists around 12 fuel filter is around 25-30

Here is the link of the subaru schedule list.

http://www.subaru.com/owners/schedules/schedules.jsp?schedulepage=2004myfed.html

I am going to ask the dealer for a list of items that they are going to perform and I will probably call up suby specialties and check the prices.

This is the list I got from the website. Damn, we don't even have to change Spark plugs til 60,000 miles.

Note: I: Inspect, R: Replace, P: Perform

Drive belt(s) [Except camshaft] I
Camshaft drive belt I
Engine oil R
Engine oil filter R
Replace engine coolant and inspect cooling system, hoses and connections P
Fuel system, lines and connections (I)
Fuel filter (R)
Air cleaner element R
Transmission/Differential (Front & Rear) lubricants (Gear oil) I
Brake fluid R
Disc brake pads and discs/Front and rear axle boots and axle shaft joint portions I
Brake linings and drums (including parking brake linings and drums) I
Inspect brake lines and check operation of parking and service brake system P
Clutch system I
Steering and suspension system I
Rotate and inspect tires P

looks like its all inspections....id say do it urself...

kenshin01 04-11-2005 01:56 PM

I guess the one good thing is if there are problems with my car, the dealer will fix it (Under Warranty). But if I go somewhere else, they are going to charge me for it? As with the inspection goes, I don't know much about car. =P I guess I just have to shop around. I'll let you guy know what up. Did you guy do all these inspections stuff by yourself? After the whole warranty thing end, I am going to service somewhere else to save major $$$. Thanks for your input

sigma pi 04-11-2005 02:18 PM

TygerStile 04-11-2005 10:55 PM

I say save yourself some money and do it yourself. That's what I did...
