Unofficial Apexi World Sport 2 Thread
Since not many people have this exhaust and there isn't much information on them, I thought this would be helpful to those still deciding on an exhaust on the quiet side. Just to clarify on the material of the exhaust, it is not stainless steel piping like most of us thought it would be but rather titanium particle paint coated mild steel piping. The only difference in the World Sport and World Sport 2 is the redesigned tip. The WS2 features a rolled tip. Here is Apexi's official comment on the exhaust.
"Piping and tip diameter (mm): 65mm-65mm-80mm 100mm
NEW WS II Exhaust
APEX is proud to introduce the new 50 state legal WS II EXHAUST series! The NEW WS II EXHAUST SERIES is APEX answer to the ultimate street muffler system with all around performance. The canister is made of the highest grade polished SUS304 stainless steel with titanium particle paint coated mild steel piping. This muffler has always been the standard for aftermarket exhaust. The oval canister houses a newly designed fully rolled tip for an extremely high class finish. As usual, all APEX cat back exhaust systems come complete with all necessary hangers, nuts, bolts, and gaskets.
APEX quality welding and material set the new WS II Exhaust apart from cheap imitators. Interior construction has been fine tuned for even more low to mid-range power. Countless magazine dyno tests have proven the WS Exhaust to be one of the best all around exhaust systems on the market.Multiple vehicle applications also add to the WS Exhaust success.
All WS II exhaust systems comply to emission laws because they do not modify or relocate the catalytic converter and factory O2 sensors. Since the legality of exhaust products is based on them being considered direct-replacement parts there is no certificate necessary to issue for this series. For add-on or modified parts which require an Executive Order (EO) number there is a mandate for an under hood label which must be included with the product. The WS Series is functionally identical to the OEM part it replaces during the condition under which emission testing is conducted. Sound levels of the WS series also average in the mid to high 80dB range."
I should have pictures out of the box and on the car by tonight. Followed by a video clip shortly.

its starts of 2.5" and expands to 3" right on the s-curve on the axleback portion. i am having difficulty finding my digital camera but so far here are my impressions for having it 1/2 the day.
the quality of the exhaust is like expected from Apexi, topnotch.
coming from a loud borla single tip, the power output seems the same except it feels like i might have gained back some torque because of the extra back pressure because of the 2.5" piping.
the note of this exhaust is like no other exhaust i have heard for the wrx so far. to me its a mellow boxer rumble with the exotic note of a 350z/g35 and porsche mixed together. cruising on the freeway you can barely hear it unless you get on it and after that its music to the ears. city driving its perfect. once again quiet when in economode driving but makes its point when you hear it coming. GET OUT THE WAY!!! (please note that i am catless and its still very quiet)
fitment was like a glove.
the position of the muffler under the bumper looks very good. it doesnt stick too far out but enough so that the bumper doesnt get burnt or turn black.
overall i give this exhaust a rating of 10 out of 10 because i was not dissapointed with it and i have yet to be.
if anybody has any other questions that i did not address please feel free to ask.
one thing that people have been telling me is that when you get into the 300whp range the 2.5" piping will begin to be a little restrictive. i am sure that an exhaust shop will be able to fix that. i know i am because i have an extra 3" midpipe laying around so i am going to put it to good use when i get my super 16g.

Nice. A few more pictures would be great. Not enough info on this exhaust out there. How about the power band? Noticable increase in power, etc.?

i recently moved so its in one of the boxes. pictures will be posted as promised also a better video. powerband wise the topend stayed the same because i was running a friends full 3" exhaust, but it feels like some torque may have been gained back because of the backpressure from the 2.5" pipe.
