Just bought a '05 CGM STi in Ft. Myers. Anyone trade there's in recently?

Just bought a '05 CGM STi in Ft. Myers, it was used, one owner with just 2,900 miles on it. Carfax says it was first registered in early February. I'm curious to see if I could find the original owner. It has an aftermarket header pipe, downpipe and an Injen intake on it. If anyone knows who might have owned this car before me, let me know.

That's what I was thinking...but they said it was traded in...I guess it wouldn't be the first time a salesman lied now would it? :-)

Thanks for the welcome...I appreciate it.

if you look at the carfax it might show whether or not if it was a lease... but it will show where it was last registered. one scenario might be that it was a dealer demo that exceeded the "demo" mileage". the carfax should reveal enough info for you to see how many owners it had.

The Carfax said one owner, first registered in early February 2005. It was traded in at a Toyotal dealership (again, according to the salesman's story) in very early April.

When it was first registered it had a little over 300 miles on it...so it does sound like it was test driven a lot. I guess that's not optimal, but I've read a lot of debate about break-in strategies and which is best. Oh well, that's what the warranty is for I guess and it runs and drives perfectly.
