DO NOT get the HKS down pipe. its not going to do much for power gains. get a Helix down pipe instead. if you spend some time and search this forum a little bit you will soon learn that the HKS DP is just a waste of money. its made well, but the design is almost identical to the stock DP where it meets the turbo. a Helix DP will set you back around 300, but its well worth the extra money.

Well thats your opinion that hks is a waist of money, maybe the mouth opening of the turbo is just like the stock one but all i know is i like my setup, full 3" catless and you can def feel the performance gains.....

I agree with you bro.....for the money I have to spend the HKS is a good dp for me....with my money I'll get more power from my set up plus a accessport and spending more money on a downpipe or whatever. Plus you can make HKS to be like a Helix or whatever dp by taking it to a machine shop and getting it fabricated for what I hear for around $70 which I will be doing sometime.

your link doesnt work and site doesnt really show any pics or give too many details on the construction of their turbo back. because of this, i stay stick w/ the HKS cat back.

if you dont mind spending a little more i would go for the Suby Dude package. your going to notice a bigger gain by replacing your up pipe and down pipe than just changing your cat back.

i like HKS dp for the money you cant say its a bad downpipe. i mean does anyone have a proof of how much hp different will bellmounth and HKS dp make? i made 320 whp with hks dp and my other friend made 290 whp with hks dp too. i am not saying other dp with bellmounth are bad just that when ppl hear hks dp the first reaction would be do not get those.

its not that its a bad down pipe, but if you want to get max power and performance out of a set up it wouldnt be the first dp most tuners would go to. its design is almost identical to the stock dp at the turbo. many tuners have found that exhaust flow right after the turbo can be critical. the HKS dp is designed so that the exhaust gasses from the wastegate have to make a 90 degree bend and then another 90 bend to flow w/ the gasses from the turbine. this doesnt promote optimal exhaust flow and will not give you the numbers that other down pipes will. the HKS is basically a stock DP w/ 3" diameter piping and no cats.

im using the Helix myself and i have nothing bad to say about it. The bellmouth design is well thought out and the fitment is really good. if you do a search on Helix down pipes you'll find that a lot of other WRX owners are recomending them.
