Utec question

I put my Utec in yesterday. It is set at stage 2. My exhaust hasn't come in yet but I did remove resonator box. I have the boost at around 14.5. Today I noticed at between 4000 and 5000 rpms in 4th gear my cel flicked on and off. the first time once the second twice. I didn't have my foot all the way in it so Boost was around 10. Do I have a problem?

it sound like you are getting knock, do you have a laptop to do somedata logging? you might one to switch to map 1 if your wrx is completely stock. im new to this utec stuff myself, but i know if your cel flashes it is a sign of knock.

by the way, a good forum to go to with utec question is, wrxhackers.com everyon there is very helpful. if you cant solve your knock problem just post your data log, and someone there can help you out. you can also try emailing or calling turboxs, they have great customer service, and usually reply very quickly.

What fuel are you using. The base maps that come with the UTEC are set to run on 93, so their recommendation if you have, say, 91 octane is to pull a degree or two of timing out across the board.

Subfuzion, you can certainly stop by MPJ for some tips from Mike on how to look at your datalogs fromt he UTEC. Mike's no tuner, but he can at least get you started in the right direction. Otherwise, dyno time (at someplace like ATP) is a really good way to refine your map in a hurry (once you know how to read the logs a bit ).
