steering rack bushings added oversteer?

Installed some Whiteline steering rack bushings this weekend. At first I didnt notice a difference driving the car easy through my area. Stockers looked kinda rough when I pulled them out though and very soft. Was driving the car today at higher speeds and noticed a good bit of oversteer now. Usually I run my coilovers 2 clicks harder on the front compared to the rear to compensate for some understeer the car has. I needed to soften the dampening 2 clicks on the front to match the rear now to get rid of the new oversteer im seeing.

Theres a few more bushings I need to replace before getting it all aligned but was just curious to all the guys that installed the steering rack bushings.... did you guys see an increase in oversteer after the install?

I felt that after my install, turning was a lot more direct, neutral and way more responsive.

this. OP maybe you are feeling oversteer because you are used to turning further than is needed with the new bushings.

ok cool. Yeh I guess i was just a bit surprised that it made that much of a difference to the point I needed to retweak my setup to balance the over/understeer. My car has 100k on it and the stock steering bushings was in pretty bad shape. Nice upgrade for $40 bucks. Looking forward to getting the rest of my old bushings out now.

I've been lagging on the install for mine too, I may have a few questions for you whenever I install them.

Sounds like it is working the way it is supposed to Take the slop out and feel more the way it should. Sounds like you were actually compensating for a sloppy steering rack with the additional stiffness on the coils.

I did them on my WRX and was very pleased, but yes it did add a lot more "feel" and precision to turning, and that's the idea.
