For around $160 (unpainted) I can add a STi hood intake on my '03 WRX.
Is this worth it?
I have the car bone stock now, but plan on replacing the up-pipe with a straight pipe, putting in a foam or K&N panel filter or an intake with filter, and do the exhaust...
Would the Sti type intercooler hood intake make the much cooler than the stock one?
It looks more agressive, which is sort of cool by itself...
Thanks,
Patrick

i think of it more as a cosmetic than anything else. the extra air coming in is negligible. I'm not a big fan of show, but the sti scoop is so much more aggressive.
i would recommend an air splitter: ravspec.com sells them for 50 + shipping
and a scoop guard/mesh cover so punks dont throw trash in your scoop. also it helps against sucking in little kids.
lastly, rallispec.com sells the scoop UNPAINTED for 117 + 10 dollar shipping fee. dont know where you got 160 from. good luck.
