Talking wanna get your sube DIRTY???? -- POSSIBLE DATE CHANGE...

DATE SET TO FEB 28

sorry gang for those who cant make... turns out either way, i have to be there that day anyways... just found out some toyota people will be running HH on FEB 28.

so if you wanna come and join me... cool.

communcations:

CB channel 4

FRS channel 4, sub channel 0 --i you have subchannels.

i plan to be at the ranger station at 10am 'ish. that's where you pay your $4. get a map and the combo code to get to the school house gate entrance.

bring a lunch. be SELF SUFFICIENT for everything. you may wanna figure out how to attach that tow hook you have to the front and rear bumpers attachment point. NOT TO THE BUMPER ITSELF!!!!!

dont drink and drive. the rangers have guns!

if you have more questions dont hesitate to add to this thread or PM me. i will post directions on how to get there as the date gets closer.

----- end of update -----

okay... seeing that a few people wants to get their subies dirty, i wanna know if a few more of you are interested.

right now, the proposed place is HOLLISTER HILLS SVRA. about 1.5 hours drive on my slow truck from fremont. about 75 miles.

it costs $4 to get in. if we pick a weekend where it just rained, then even better. even cooler is that HH has a motorcycle/truck wash so at the end of the day, you can get rid of all the mud. but then again, if you wanna drive home with a brown car, go for it...

another cool part is that the last 6 miles to get to the park is a nice curvy 2 lane road... on my slightly lifted truck, it's a hoot to drive.

i'm shooting for late FEB weekend. probably FEB 28, a saturday.

EDIT: possible changed date to XXX XX .

post comments below...

the park is like a ski resort where trails are marked with GREEN, BLUE and BLACK.

there is a big wide open space if you just wanna do donuts all day long. in the mud...

i'll be bringing my truck so it's like a sweep vehicle for rallies... just know how to attach the hooks for your car...

we did this 3 years ago and people had fun. it was kinda dry so we drove all the way to the top.

EDIT #2: called the ranger station. they did confirm FEB 21 is out since the upper ranch (the 4x4 section, while the "lower" ranch is for motorcycles, atv, etc) will be closed since some other organization will be taking it over.

okay, so we are back to to FEB 28 again. but like i said, on the HH fan run website shows a HUMMER INTERNATIONAL event. whatever that is... the AREA 5 mentioned is a small section of the uper ranch that is fenced off for a bigger campground.

so i guess we can show up and if the HUMMER is indeed the FAUX H2s, then we can run with them and do a little showing off...

cause that is the closest LEGAL place to go wheeling around the bay area, that is kinda big enough so you dont run into another vehicle...

http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=1172

carnagie is another place but it's mainly for motorcycles and ATVs.

it sucks... kinda like going to thunderhill or willow springs for legal racing....

That's not too bad. I just hope nothing happens to my car cause it would be a lot of $$$$ getting it towed back to SSF

Got a map/website of this place? I am interested. It is too rough or relatively smooth? Don't want to get rocks throwing all around the car now.. hehee.

the websites, both official CA and a "fan" run one doesnt give close up pixs of terrain.

it changes when it gets wet.

yes, there will be rocks getting thrown no matter what so...

there is a place that is kinda "smooth" so you can run kinda fast. but i havent been there in a few months so i cant say how it will be in a couple weeks.

rocks shouldnt NOT be a problem unless you are following someone really close. even when i go 4 wheelin', i dont follow newbies that close since i they sometimes give it too much gas and kick up a nice rock shower...

forgot to mention, where we are going to play, they have flushing toilets and a nice campground so...

sorry cant bring the STi... still have summer tires... puncture with the RE070s is a very good possibility.

one thing i can do for some folks driving 17" rims with 225/45 tires is bring a couple of spares... LOLLLLLLLLL
