I dont know if this applies to the STI, but the 07 WRX has no ash tray. Instead there is Aux Line-In plug for the stereo. So you can plug in an mp3 player.

I have an 04 STi... I don't notice any steering problems, what do you mean by steering problems? Like power steering going out or leaking?

I forgot to add, apparently there's newly added valve timing for the 05/06/07 that was not present on the 04.

Thumbs up

Resale? go with an 'O5!!!

I have sold two with just over 8K on them for $32K retail at our dealership... it's a knee jerk reaction to the 'new' front end on the 06/07 cars. I repeat, sold them for $2,000 under MSRP for a NEW one! Both customers would do it again, see them the time.

The longer gears suck for everyday fun and the 07's are the heaviest lol and have a throttle lag issue!

hahaa... so i guess i should get an 05. As far as the steering goes, i read somewhere when you are on a dead stop and u turn the wheel, u can hear some kind of odd noises. Maybe something like clanking sounds.

Color only for this year: Java Black Pearl

05 = 41/59 (Front/Rear) Torque Split; 17x8 rims, 225/45/17 RE070 tires. Stereo, automatic climate control, front helical differential, short steering rack, 5x114.3 bolt pattern (more gangster fitments), rear wheel arches, new interior design (different seats, door cards, and no longer has flip down center visor for sun blocking, now there's a mesh there), different steering wheel, immobilizer key. Relocation of washer fluid reservoir, high temp black rubber on radiator fill tank. STi badge is no longer pink/chrome, it is now pink/black. Head lights are also black instead of a dark chrome.
Color for this year: Crystal Grey

05 vs 06
06 = Rear vane spoiler, new tail lights, new front end, under body carriage tray, rear diffuser, over all - probably more aerodynamic. Thicker trunk carpet. Star badge now bolted into center of trunk, no longer says SUBARU in large letters on trunk.
Color for 06: New Grey color that's slightly greenish. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

06 vs 07 = pretty much the same, I've heard but have not actually seen: rear lights have more silver in them, even more Altezza style. New color: Pearl white instead of Aspen White. Still 300 HP / 300 ft/lbs, but rated on a different scale, that's why they say it's 293 HP.
The torque split went to 41/59 in 06- the 05s are 35/65.

Hrm, can anyone with an 05 STi owners manual confirm? I thought the 05's were 41/59.
