Cheapest vendor to buy Exedy Twin Plate clutch?
Trying to find the cheapest vendor to buy an Exedy twin plate cluth.......anyone? Was thinking of buying the Xtreme pressure plate for my ACT, but I know the twin plate would have way better driveability. Bleh, wish I just bought the twin plate to begin with, as usual, this could have been avoided if i had just bought the twin plate from the start:/

I have had quality and major service/warranty issues with exedy. Clutch material separated form disc. Would not warranty, offered me 2/3 retail price for a new one.
I have also had a clutch master twin disc in my car. The clutch master failed very quickly. All the rivits on one of the discs sheared off at 8k rpm under load, causing thousands of dollars in damage (Clutch parts through the bell housing and hood). I argued for months with the manufacturer. They "misplaced" my claim, then they "didn't recieve" the destroyed **** that I sent back to them even though it had deliver confirmation. They would constantly "transfer" me to another person and hang up on me. They finally offered to sell me a new one for $1000, after months of calling.
I have not and will not buy a new one of either brand. Do yourself a favor, and do not deal with either.
Maybe I did just get fluke parts both times. However, If a company does not stand behind their product when it is used properly and well within claimed limitations, I dont want it.
I am currently running the ACT heavy duty pressure plate with a single 6 puck disc. It holds my power fine. It has lasted longer than the other two put together, and it is 1/3 the price.

ACT has always been awesome to me. From 500whp DSM's, to my 200hp miata with HD pressure plate, they've handled some major abuse. Exedy is OEM for many manufacturers, so as long as you arent making tons of power, they should be just fine.

i do remember you telling me about the clutchmasters........fail!
i also have the ACT heavy duty pressure plate but i have the street/strip disc. not a big fan of 6 puck, had one in my del sol.......not good for DD cars at all. not that ill ever DD the sti again...but still.....driveability with the 6 puck is bleh. idk, still debating but maybe ill just get a new pressure plate. would cost me significantly less (more than 1/3 of the cost of the exedy)
