Half of the whole rally thing is getting entrants so we have enough checkpoints, if you guys decide not to "do" the rally I shouldn't even bother to write it for cryin' out loud...
Huck I have toned things down considerably from that first year which was just silly I'll admit, how far along is she? ...but you can do it with or without a co-driver...
Andy, just get with the friggin' program will you?
Still hoping to hear from Dr and Mrs Tofu-
and anyone else... still 3 spots open!
No, this is an all entrants participation project- and I still want to see us get
I can do it without a co-driver? I'm in!!
She's only 4.5 months in but I don't think she realizes what an entire day in a passenger seat on amazing roads would feel like.
Oh BTW, I'm gonna be a dad.

And yeah. I'd recommend finding a new co-driver because she will not be comfortable in anyways shape or form.... AND you'll be paranoid about crashing and hurting her and that's a sure fire way to make a mistake.
It won't be hard for you to find some one.
WHat happened to your friends that were interested?

Congrats Huck! Mine is 9 months. It is truly amazing how quickly time flies.
I've run every Redwood Rendezvous without a co-driver (Andy and I have both wanted to drive the last two so that's what we did). You should be fine though it can get a little hectic

This year the route is very straightforward, many of the roads will be old favorites from the group drives we used to do 7-8 years ago and should be easy to follow without a co-driver- except for one little portion, but it isn't on a timed section so you should be able to follow someone else through it.

AndyC made some DIY mudflaps for his '02 wagon that seem to have held up very well. He could direct you to the correct parts and possibly a template for the flaps themselves. I'm rocking the Rally Armor basics but they're showing their age poorly. I'm going to reuse the hardware and make some DIY flaps myself sometime in the near future.

a few Questions for those participating;
Do you want to visit the drive through tree this year? (cost is $5, always kind of fun, but then again we've been there and done that a few times)
Do you have FRS or GMRS radio(s) you can bring along?
I only have 3 real rally clocks and about 10 palm pilots, but the Palms are getting old and are not very reliable, do any of you guys have i-phones? (bushido- I know you do- anyone else?)
Some additional information to consider;
The campground I am considering is on State Park land and camping fee is supposed to be $25 for a site +$8 for each additional car, not sure we'll even see a ranger, but we should expect that we might, -I'm thinking if we get 10 cars we probably will need 4 campsites, so think about how we can make that work out.
Again it is posted as "bear country" (I only saw a half dozen elk last week up there, no bears) so have proper storage for food (as if we ever even think about cleaning up the camp at night).
Something else we should be listening for...

The drive through tree is cool, but we would be up for skipping it this year.
I have at least one radio, gotta try to dig the other one out of the closet somewhere.
Got an i-phone here.
Bears are cool with me... just as long as we don't run into Chupacabra again!!
