I just want to thank everyone for coming out and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did! I'm sorry if anyone was offended by the joke. It really was a harmless meet. We passed by 2 park police and they were just stared admiringly at our cars. They were really cool folks about it. We posed no threat to anyone.

all i can do is reiterate what i said. (might have been here or one of the other 12578 threads for this meet+'joke'..hard to keep track) but, again, some things you just shouldn't mess with....

making up a pretend story about cops raiding groups of cars and people, incl cuffing them and etc. is not smart. portraying cops as overzealous, esp inaccurately is not smart.

it's also not a super good idea to mock specific PD departments whether it's w/a fictional thread title or otherwise. 'Thanks, XXPD," joke or not, is basically calling them out.

i'm still drained from yesterday, so i can't break things down any further, but the gist of it is that....

it's not prudent to attract unnecessary attention.

you already noted how paranoid people are to drive their modded cars nowadays. why do anything to bring extra 'heat' on us/the scene? if you guys took the time to read between the lines, i think some of you would see and do a few things differently.

i'm not gonna comment any further in here or any of the other associated threads cuz this thing seems to be taking off pretty well on its own.

I'm not discussing the joke anymore since it really amounts to a hill of beans at the end of the day. We all had a good time, met some new people and thats all thats important.

 

Good job stitching them together. Can't see where any of the photos overlap and it came out pretty good.

Not only was that prank inconsiderate, who knows what will come of it in the near future. Word spreads fast on the internet, and jokes turn sour quickly.

We i-Clubbers used to have a reputation for being one of the "clean" clubs in the area, but with the actual Wing Stop incident, this prank, and the sheer number of 16-year-olds buying 2nd hand WRX's, I can just taste the trouble coming.

I'd still consider "us" to be a clean club. We don't advocate street racing, acting dumb on public streets or doing doughnuts on the Embarcadero like the domestic ride I saw last weekend while out running.

We all met today, drove safely and sanely, had a good time and that was that. We didn't **** anyone off, we obeyed speed limits, yielded to pedestrians and all that good stuff. We decided to poke some fun at the paranoia running rampant around here lately, we clearly could have done worse.

I do think its amusing that were being ousted by some for it when we can all benefit from a healthy dose of 'lighten the **** up'.

Anyway, I'm done discussing the joke portion of this ride, I just wanted to go on record saying we behaved as we should and didn't raise as much as an eyebrow from anyone. If every car club behaved as we did today, all the time, there wouldn't be such a thing as import profiling.
