What is it with all the big rigs on 280N from 880 to 85 about 7AM all being left lane cruisers and messing up the flow of traffic? This is right before traffic starts to get bad, and they all have to cruise in the middle and left lanes with 50 billion miles of open road in front of them. They can easily cruise in the right lane as there are not many cars there. I hate that all the idiots on the road are all trying to pass them but can't and mess up the flow even more.

Secondly, to all those gravel trucks on the road. Cover your load. I am tired of my car getting pelted with hundreds of rocks as I pass you. My windsheild has millions of little pits in it from gravel. The front end of my car is getting chipped to hell right after it just got repainted. Stupid trucks stop it. I am sure I am not the only one that hates it.

Thirdly, with the other thread about cell phones. Get off the road if you are going to yap. I almost got hit twice this morning by two SUV driving soccer moms yapping away while trying to take their kids to their "Posh Private School", and not paying attention or looking before they changed lanes. This is a daily occurance. Stop it already...

Fourthly (if it is even a word), get up earlier if you don't have enough time to shave or put on your makeup. Go to bed 30 minutes earlier if you have to, DVR Letterman and Leno if you don't have enough time in the morning to get ready. I am tired of seeing you swerving in your lane cause you are so distracted.

Fifthly, stop rubber necking. I want to get home just as bad as you, and your slowng us down even more. I too am stuck in traffic with other things I need to do. I too am late for a meeting etc... If you see a accident on the side of the road and CHP is already there, keep driving. They happen everyday, and I am sure you have seen one before. Also, there is no reason for you to rubberneck and a CHP giving someone a ticket. Big deal, keep going, no need to come to a complete stop to look.

Sixthly, when merging onto the freeway, be nice. Let someone in if the are in front of you, don't ride tha *** of the car in front of you. That one spot forward is not going to make a difference all it does is make all the other cars hit their brakes even more slowing the rest of us down. If you would just merge nicely, we would all get there a heck of a lot faster and there would be less traffic.

Seventhly, to the idiots that turn from a side road onto a main road right in front of me and cut me off when there is 50 billion miles of open road right behind me. wait the 5 seconds for me to pass so I do not have to slam on my brakes and almost hit you cause you pull out RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, then go 20MPH below the speed limit. There is no need for you to flip me off when you were the one that cut me off when I had the right of way on the main road and you decided you wanted to go 20MPH slower then the speed limit.

You idiots are making my comute 3-4 times longer then it has to be. I wish you idiots would DIAF!

It was another useless Daniel thread. Over the last week I have witnessed some of the most idiotic driving while on my way to and from work. I just needed to rant.

 

Flip those ****** off, they aren't allowed to be in the left lane. They've already destroyed our right lanes, keep em outta the fast lane!

I found it odd that I kinda followed someone yesterday on my way home. I was on 280S and they were in the fast lane from Lawrence to Bascome/Leigh (where I exit also) and followed them almost all the way to my house. It was odd.

My biggest thing at the moment, are the people who are "merging" onto Central Expressway, usually between 237 and Lawrence.

They have enough space on the shoulder to speed up, yet they stop instead of mash the gas. This is when i pass them on said shoulder with a firm honk and wave goodbye.
Most cars have more go than my RS too, which is sad.

And for rubberneckers, I'm usually passing them from 10 mph up to 70 *Right* after the scene, as they all flicker their highbeams at me as if I'm the idiot.

 

Key point.. right before traffic starts to get bad. Truckers KNOW this. If you've ever driven anything with more than 4 wheels you know what a total ***** it is to deal with idiots who can't merge (your point #6).

Traffic would be worse if they ran in the right lane because everytime some knucklehead decided he was late for his exit and dove in front of the truck to get off, the truck would have to slam on his brakes and jackknife blocking at least 3 lanes for hours.

Cut truckers a break, they're just trying to get the crap you want to the place you want it to be without killing you in the process.

 

I give truckers plenty of space. I know how hard it is for 80,000lbs to come to a stop and how much braking force it takes. I know how much power it takes to get that rolling again too. I always give them plenty of room and never sit on their side cause of the massive blind spots. I am all for truckers doing what they need to be safe. They are not supposed to be in the left lane though, and they are legally supposed to cover their loads. I hate being around the gravel trucks that are not covered. That gets on my nerves.

 

The main cause of traffic is stupidity, plain and simple. Stupidity is the reason people are scared to drive faster, overuse their brakes, talk on their cell phones, rubber neck, etc. It used to be that stupidity got you killed. Today, we are making things safer and safer for stupid people, thereby needlessly prolonging their lives, to our detriment. Stupidity should hurt, main, and kill. Instead, not only is it forgiven, it is almost encouraged. This allows stupid people to breed and produce more stupid people - it's a vicious cycle.

My main pet peeve on the road is slow drivers. SLOW DOES NOT MEAN SAFE! If there is open space in front of you, FOR EFF'S SAKE, USE IT! I don't care if you need to go 75, 85, or even 95mph to make use of the open space, just do it. What are you afraid of hitting, the vast amounts of nothingness in front of you? Stop being a moron relying on signs like the speed limit to dictate how fast you can go. USE YOU EFFING EYES AND BRAIN, survey the situation, and determine how fast you can go for yourself! Sometimes, the fastest you can go will be 25mph...fine. But other times, you can safely go 100+. Your car will not automatically blow up if you go over 65mph!!!

So, to sum up, needlessly going slow = stupid, and stupidity should hurt/maim/kill.

BTW, if driving scares you, don't drive. I don't care if you need to get to work, if your kids need a ride to school, etc. If you are too scared to drive effectively without hitting your ******* brakes every 15sec, you need to DIAF.

Wrong. I am old(er) and have enough tickets. I am not saying speed with complete and utter disregard, but, when safe to do so, don't think that going over 65mph is going to cause a newborn baby to die somewhere. Nothing irks me more than some tool cruising at 70mph in the fast lane when there is at least a mile of open road in front of him.

Speeding is not always stupid, but being a sheep and following pointless laws without taking the time to think about the purposes they were intended to serve, is.
