Remember, most folks will show up at the door... but $17 is a lot, so they will probably roll solo.

plus the $5 parking fee
it does seem like a lot

the $12 prepay / $17 at the door pays for their food and the entertainment?

maybe a lot of people will just bring their own things to eat and not want to pay the catered food/entertainment fee.

I'm coming early to help set up, but I'm brining my own food to eat. So I'll only be paying for the $5 price to park. I just want to chill and have a good time just being there.

This brings up an interesting point. No one considers the cost of the rental of the "reserved" area of the park an expense worth contributing to cover? The cost of planning and the cost of bringing in entertainment equipment? None of these have anything to do with bringing your own food, yet no one values them enough to chip in for them, even though they'll be "having a good time"...

It's not like the ENTIRE amount goes to having catered food...

I'm just curious how you would handle food planning if everyone simply showed up to Hammy with no notice, and no one paid in advance for any of the tickets? Don't you think it might be a bit more expensive to keep going to the local store and purchasing items in small quantities to cover the people showing up at the door?

Just a question...

I know when they did the voting, I didn't vote for enetertainment stuff. I really wasn't interested in paying for things like that just for a meet.
For me, "having a good time" is just being there. Checkout out cars, talking to people, having lunch.

In a small conversation with JourdanWithaU, I told him how I'm in charge of a large car club BBQ we are having next month in Pismo with about 100 people. The only cost is the $120~ park reservation fee, which about 10 people nicely donated a little money to me via paypal to cover that fee for the whole group.
For those people that are wanting to eat, majority of them are bringing foods to share with everybody. There is kinda a list of who's bringing what, so people get an idea of what they might bring. I'm going to be the grill man for the day too, so I'll be grilling up most of what needs cooking on the large bbq.

So basically for our 100 person meet, the only cost is the park fee plus whatever you want to bring to eat or share with people.

now for the i-club bbq, it seems the cost is very very high. Catered food is not cheap. I just think there is a lot of people that just don't wish to pay for high priced things right now, but want to go to the meet. There are a lot of people on the previous page who said they are coming, and yet not many tickets have actually been sold.

For those people, is it because of the price? or did you just want to come to a meet just to chill (not eat the catered food, maybe you are brining your own food?)

There must be somthing wrong or missing since the number of tickets being sold is short.

I just want this meet to turn out well since a lot of planning is going into it.

Well, if everyone agrees with you, then the meet should take ~15 minutes and one person making a couple of phone calls to organize. Not sure how much organizing it takes to reserve some space at a park.

No food/no entertainment/etc. makes things quite easy.

I'm also wondering what set up you're doing that requires you to show up so early. Cars aren't being segregated or anything, so just curious what would take organization and setup?

Not sure where exactly you are getting at saying "if everybody agrees with you, then it should take..."

You've organized car drives before, so you know what it takes to organize something.....

It takes a lot more than 15 minutes for the meet I've been helping to organize. It took time setting up a paypal, getting people to donate towards the park fee, researching parks and finding out that meets our requirment then getting the proper permits for it, and creating a huge list of people attending and what they are bringing to the meet. You say "no food and no entertainment make that quiet easy" and yet you really don't know what you are talking about. Our park has Basketball courts, a field, and the beach is right across the street. Our "entertainment" are those things. Being in a group of a lot of people who create the entertainment, rather than spending a lot of money on things like slip n slides.

As far as time goes, that had nothing to do with any of my previous conversations or posts.

My post obviously geared more towards cost, what people want in a meet, and trying to figure out/ask why so few are signed up for this i-club meet.

As far as "set up" goes, there are vendor booths, catered food, etc.. that needs to be "set up." I thought that was obvious from the beginning, Roo.

Holy ****... whoa guys... Calm down...

Everyone is tripping out on how to organize everything and how they would do it and how it should be done... but here's the catch... There is really only one person organizing this meet, and that's ME...

Some people have said that I have a committee but I really don't... In reality it has been me with some help from three other people... That's it...

I'm not completely sure what everyone is freaking out about... I'd like to think that I have everything under control... yet there are some changes that I have to make...

I didn't see anything wrong with paying the 12 bucks seeing as how that was for park costs and food. I know there is parking fee but big deal its not like we are doing this every week or month. Only reason I haven't paid for Bryan and myself is because I don't have paypal and have to pay in person when I see Jourdan. btw what did u decide on for the food?

Thanks again Jourdan for the work you are putting into the meet and who ever else is helping you.

Im sure everyone involved has been doin alot of planning and it does take alot to put it together. You should appreciate that we are actually having a "hammy event" this year.

I have decided to do Togo's... I thinking about some 8ft subs, 7layer dip, veggie trays, a bunch of cookies and brownies, and of course an *** load of sodas/waters

me too. I think that in some form it could be saved. I'd actually kinda like to do an O.G. status meet up there. Like the first couple.
