Introducing Stella: Saabaru916's Aero

Hey everyone!

I’ve been lurking here off and on since I bought my Saabaru – bought and sold a couple items on here, been to a couple meets and have posted when I was in need of some troubleshooting advice. I’d like to be a bit more active on the forum and thought with that, I should give a proper introduction and history of my Saabaru.

I bought the car a little less than 2 years ago when my first car (a ’93 325i w/ 223k miles) crapped out and I was in need of a replacement. When my bimmer was on its way out, I began the search for a replacement – I wanted a manual wagon that was fun to drive. At the time (and is still the case now since Saab is no longer in North America (RIP)), the Saabaru was priced lower than its WRX wagon counterparts and seemed to be that the majority were less flogged. After determing I wanted a Saabaru, I spent about 4 months searching and finally landed on the perfect 92x for me.

My Saabaru is a 5MT Sport Package Aero … w/ a salvage title. That’s how I was able to get a great deal though! I bought it from S&S Auto Parts, based in Northridge CA, who parts out Subies and Saabs. He bought the car at auction from Texas and spent about 4 months sourcing parts for the front-end repairs and having it finished. I was fortunate enough to find him through a WTB ad I posted and the car had only 44k miles on it when I bought it.

I’ve done a laundry list of mods in the 2 years since owning the car, mostly the basic stage 2 and handling improvements as well as a number of visual mods.

Thanks for looking and I hope to get to know some fellow subie drivers more in the local area, and continue to learn from everyone’s expertise on the forum! Cheers! Now for the mod and picture dump!

Some exhaust videos I took after installing the downpipe and flashing to stage 2 if anyone's interested in some nice boxer rumble from a Saab.

Liking the wheel stickers, subtle yet nice.

Thanks, I'm rocking the Saabaru badges over all my stock SAAB ones, increases the 'WTF is this car?' factor for those who don't know what it is. ha :)
