need alignment

does anyone know where i can get my wrx aligned in Sacramento. I went to several local shops and they couldn' t do the job because they said my car can't go onto the ramp. i have lowered spring on my car so it's impossible to raise the car, unless i take off the front lip, which i don't want to do. Any info will be appreciated

If you can't get on one guy's rack, you can't get on anyone else's. Sorry dude.

It's not just the lip that's the problem, it's also the breakover angle and ground clearance for exhausts and ish (possibly, not knowing anything about this specific car). At vishnu we used to have problems with TXS exhaust and anything ower than stock getting on the dyno. Similar issues for alignment racks.

I wonder if the local Corvette shop could do it, MSi. You'd probably have to provide the alignment specs.

they do laser alignments, and have done some LOOOOW vettes.

They quoted me $180 to do my vette. Though sometimes they are really hard to get ahold of.

Part of the problem is if the shop uses a hydraulic lift for their alignment machine, lowered cars wind up scraping or high centering just driving onto the rack. If their alignment machine is in a pit rack/underground rack, then getting the car on the rack is no prob.

The alignment machine itself poses the other half of the problem. It depends on the alignment equipment the shop is using. If it's using one of the older systems that use IR sensors on each of the head units that triangulate the position by shooting a beam to the 2 units perpendicular to it, then if your car has long hanging body kit stuff blocking the beam, you're SOL, unless the shop ghetto rigs the heads onto your wheels.

If it uses a somewhat newer alignment machine that works off the big flashing panel/base unit system, those work with almost any car. If you want to see an example, the Sears shop at the Galleria Mall has that machine with the flashing base/solar panel heads. I don't recommend an alignment there though, I used to work with a guy that went there after he got fired from my shop for failing his drug test.

I used to run into this problem all the time with hondas, eclipses, etc. when I did alignments

70$ for a 2wheel Alignment!? Are you freakin kidding me?! I went there because everyone said 'wow...good stuff'. they did nothing for me, other than charge me 70$ to 'look' at my truck and 'try' to align it. (dont start with the 'air ride' cant be aligned...) They are retarded! i've never been to a big-o that didnt look like the people working & running it were drugged outta their minds.

169$ for a LIFETIME alignment @ firestone. they did my looooooooooooow mr2, tucking a 255/45/16 in the rear and right above the tire in the front (215/45/16). I've had nothing but good luck with the one behind sunrise mall.
my 2cents.

EDIT: And thats how i really feel! >!<

+1 for firestone. get the lifetime alignment package. but dont go to the firestone on marconi and fulton. they left their tools under my hood and one of my front wheels was the left same way it came in (-2 degrees camber and the other was at -.5). and the guy at the front counter is also gay.
