Cruise control not working

Coming to work this morning I noticed that my cruise control wasn't working anymore. I made a service appointment for Monday morning, but I'm driving to south SF this afternoon for the weekend. I've checked the fuses and they appear to be ok. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Does anyone know if these cars disable the cruise when a tail light is out?

I am not sure but cruise control is pretty much useless on I-80 past vallejo nowadays anyway.

:rotfl:

HTF could those two areas be connected?!
Wouldn't put it past Subaru Engineers, though.

I've read in the past that in some vehicles when a tail light goes out it could cause the cruise control to fail. It was done so that the driver would have an indication of the tail light failure..since you know, they can't see it from in the car.
9. IMPORTANT: Check that the brake light bulb in each tail light unit of your car is an original equipment OSRAM or BOSCH bulb. Do not use U.S. type 1157 bulbs--they can damage the control unit beyond repair!

If there is power to the system, the next check is the brake lights. Brake lights? Yup, cruise controls have a switch to toggle them off when you touch the brake pedal, and many use the same switch as the brake lights. If one of the brake lights has failed, the cruise control thinks the brakes are on all the time and won't come on.
Written public apologies are acceptable :p

Little things like that make me miss the Mercedes. If a bulb went out it would tell you wich one an then it would start using a substitute.

Like if your right lowbeam went out it would use the right fog.

Right front turn signal go out? That's OK. I'll just flash the right city light in the high beam instead.

Ya' know, I thought it strange that the fuse for the cruise control also included the back-up lights. So if a bulb goes out I would expect the cruise control to go also.
