Anyone play airsoft around here?
I swung by a shop last week...
I think I want one, but I don't want to buy it and have it sit around collecting dust.

I see there is a semi-organized group in the Sac area - http://www.sacairsoft.com/
Would rather not play solo with complete strangers... hmm...

What's out of date on a tank mean? I have two tanks.
I'm down for a paintball meet. Why don't we get something together around 6pm on Saturday at the Raley's shopping center in Natomas...you know for a little urban warfare!

I have some airsoft stuff... I mostly only shoot indoors though (in my house.)
going out to shoot at people though, that sounds like fun.

A decent location, a few beers, and a good time doing CQB with those not too serious. Turned out all the people I met in the area were snobbish know-it-alls that were way too caught-up in the hobby. I bought a nice upgraded TM M4 and ended-up selling it about 4 months later. Had a nice layer of dust on it when I did too...
What I found funny in buying and selling an airsoft rifle is that it's the only hobby where stubborn, indecisive ****ers determine the market, not supply or demand. You drive an automobile off the showroom floor and thousands of dollars are lost on the value. Buy a new airsoft rifle, put 30,000 rounds through it and do countless battle drills with it and somehow sell it for retail. Duct tape a gansta grip on it and you may be able to ask $50 more than value. I found it to be so ridiculous I thought Bud Light needed to do one of those "American Hero" commercials on them. ****, I couldn't even sell real rifles the way a lot of these Simpson comicbook-type *******s sold their used airsoft rifles.
I even wrote this out of spite: http://greensickle.com/2006/08/stole..._are_airs.html
But hey, you may get lucky and find a decent group of guys to play with. Good luck!
Something tells me that paintball is the way to go to avoid the wannabes. Makes sense because you take away a lot of the replica guns and other airsoft equipment.
