StopTech Slows the USTCC Subaru WRX
Martinez, CA: Sheehan Motor Racing is pleased to announce StopTech’s continued support of their Subaru WRX entry in the 2003 U.S. Touring Car Championship.
Sheehan Motor Racing will continue to use StopTech’s patented ST-40 four piston calipers, which are an incredibly rigid design due to its unique bolt-in-bridge configuration. StopTech’s huge 328mm x 28mm 48-vane two-piece vented AeroRotors® are unchanged as well. The stock rear brake calipers are also retained, as the kit is designed to work with the factory rear brake system and stock master cylinder. This combination has proven itself to be extremely capable in handling the rigors of roadracing, providing consistent braking through every race.
The StopTech brakes were put through the test of a full U.S. Touring Car Championship race season in 2002. The braking of the Subaru WRX was vastly improved, allowing the WRX to brake with other racecars several hundred pounds lighter. Throughout the 2002 season the StopTech brake kit performed flawlessly and played a large role in the team’s three race wins and 2nd place championship finish.
