Ah, some nice pictures from the first day of the dakar. McRae is 24th overall, some 20 seconds off pace. He was taking it easy, and it also started snowing.

Anyways, here are a few of my favorite ones. McRae is in the Nissan pickup number 202. Funky spoiler on that thing. Looks like the cheese grater is catching on.

man, running the dakar is tough enough, but to have it start snowing is mental. its not a big deal to the car guys, but for the bikes -- lets just say thats a special kind of cold
