I haven't missed this race since my wife convinced me to buy a subie. I was wondering if anybody out there was planning on attending?

 

I'm going. Last time I was at stages 1, 3, and a night stage I can't remember. This year we'll be going to some of the other stages.

I absolutely love driving around welsboro between stages. Its like a subaru impreza convention.

I'll be posting a video of different clips when I get back. New toy, mini DV camcorder, purchased mainly for this event, but my wife doesn't know that, she thinks it was for filming the kids.

 

i was supposed to go last year with a friend, but it was the same weekend his bro was getting hitched. this year i wanna go!

 

I heard it is going to be a "no alcohol" event this year,

where's the fun in that?

 

hhhmmm... fast cars flying through the woods + drunk moron spectators.

It is a new company who runs the STPR now, I think they are just applying their own rules they've alway had to this event now.

 

you cant have an open container in public areas in PA anyway...

 

2 weeks... starting to get excited.

Once again, if anyone is going to have a DV camera there and can send me raw (not compressed) footage or even a DVD I'd appreciate it. I'd like to make a video based on this year's STPR.

it's only hours away!

 

I was dissappointed, my car wasn't nearly as dirty this year. Not for lack of trying either!!!

I had one guy in a silver wrx wagon following me to a stage (I drive a TS wagon). I drifted around this one left hand turn, the guy behind me almost wiped out trying to do the same

Later I saw that he had the stock RE92s. I have brand new Kumho Ecsta all seasons Cool guy though, as are most rally fans I've noticed.

Anyway, the rally itself was good. Stage 5 I was about 6-7ft from a bank that the cars flew by going into an S curve. I started to get worried when the mud was being shot at me by the cars. Wouldn't have moved for anything, it was great.

Stage 8 I was at a high speed turn (had to walk to get to it) that some one in a bugeye wrx almost flipped his car.

i had fun, took a lot of pics... 300+ went to asaph, colton point, and painter leetonia. the last one was a ***** to get to. and subarus everywhere! ive never seen so many roos! im definitely going next year!
