December's Photography Assignments: "Look Up" and/or "Warm/Cold"
Ok, I'm going to try something new here. The point of these assignments is to get you guys to explore new techniques/points of view/switch your mind o the creative side. To give you guys a little more leeway though I'm giving you a choice of two topics this time! You can do one or both, its up to you. Obviously, this means one photo per topic.
December's Theme #1: Look Up
The holiday season is reported to have the highest instances of depression, suicide, and drinking. This is why its time to focus on the happy stuff and "look up." However, I'm using "look up" in a perspective aspect, so get down low and look up! (ClifNotes: Shots taken at a low angle LOOKING UP)
December's Theme #2: Warm/Cold
It's getting old out, so what makes you feel warm? Or what scene depicts the freezing cold? Pretty self-explanatory here.
Rules:
Ending Date: December 31st
This isn't a competition, just a themed assignment for those who wish to participate. The only reason there is a due date is to keep the thread from going on and on. Feel free to PM me with options for other themes.
Constructive Criticism
The point of limiting criticism to Constructive Criticism to to keep people from just going "wow, your photo sucks" without offering a means for improvement. You could go "The composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." It would also nice and helps people receive CC better if you balance a negative with a positive such as "Well the lighting is nice, but the composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." or "I like the composition overall, but the busy background distracts me from the subject's face.'

Mind you most of the EXIF data is missing from your photo, stripped before you posted it up, which would indicate it's been through some sort of post-processing.
Shutter speed?
Focal Length?

18mm
f/18 (nice for depth of field)
1/1000
I might have kept the direct sunlight out of the shot, which would have enabled getting the subject (person) entirely in the photo without cropping the legs off at the knees. The reflection off the water would keep the image brightened enough.
