‘Lake Of The Woods’
August Drive & Meet
‘The Driver’s Loop Through Southern Oregon’
Pay off that gas card! ~ Mark your calendar. ~ And join us on an epic drive on twisty roads with light traffic!
August 31st: Meet at Southern Oregon Subaru in Medford at 10:30 AM. We will roll @ 11:00 AM!
Route: From Medford over to Ashland on the orchard back roads & then onto Hwy 66 'Greensprings Road' (rated as one of the 'Top Five Driver's Roads In The U.S.' By Car & Driver magazine!). We will then take secondary paved 'Forest Roads' over to Hwy 140 and into Lake Of The Woods Resort for lunch at the Marina Grill next to the water. After lunch, we head down the hill onto ‘Dead Indian Road’ and into Ashland for a cold beer and to say goodbye!

What a drive!
I just pre-ran this entire route @ dawn this morning. There I was on some seriously bad *** roads with no traffic running 9/10's with a goofy grin! All the roads are in perfect shape, no road work, no rocks. Even the paved forest roads we are driving just had their pot holes repaired, so no 'rim benders' either!
Come on join us... the drive will be epic and the views at Lake Of The Woods are so pretty they are almost corny!

We have places to stay!!!
Option #1: Casa Miguel's
w00t! Spread the word! I have three bedrooms going unused for anyone who'd like a place to crash Saturday and/or Sunday night if you have a long drive to get here and need to split it up ~

As much as would like to... I can't move the house to Santa Barbara ~ I sold THAT house to move here in Southern Oregon!
But, if you care to make the drive it should take you 10-11 hrs from Ventura/SB area.

Two weeks away and I am sooooo impressed with the list of people coming! Look at the diversity of forums on their way AND where people are coming from!!!

Tourist Pictures Of 'Lake Of The Woods!
For those of you who have never seen 'Lake Of The Woods', I shot some pics as I passed it to fish the Williamson River today. As you can see, you can sit inside or on the porch, or even use the picnic tables. There are also a bunch of picnic tables in the shade between the restaurants.
The Marina Inn is an 'order up' and 'come get it', so you can eat at any of these spots. The REAL trick will be finding a parking solution... I will be speaking with management to see what we can do!
