Purpose Built STi

I started out in the subaru community with an 02 WRX White Wagon, (4eat) hence the screen name...After about two years of happy ownership, last year I decided to trade up to the STi so that I could become competitive in Autocross and enjoy tracking the car.

My 04 PSM Sti is about a year old now. I have held off on heavy modification based on the fact that I wanted to run a full year of Stock-class autocross. Well, the season is nearing it's end, and the quest has begun. My car must be a capable track car, autocross threat and maintain it's drivability on a daily basis. As you can see the car has not undergone many mods at all, I've been very focused on improving the driver to this point. Now it's the car's turn.

STAGE 1 (Summer '04)
So far, the only Mod is a straight-pipe cat back exhaust, (Sound clip to come later). And a variety of wheel/ tire combos for various applications.

To be honest, I really haven't spent much, as there aren't many mods yet...I bought the mandrel bent straight pipe used from I guy I race with, $150 bucks...the 5Zigen's were the only expensive thing so far...But parts are on the way...

Nice Car

Hey, nice Sti, wat'd you do w/ the stock rims? Are u really thinking about getting a front and rear sway instead of just the rear?

I am going to get the rear first and evaluate from there. My hunch is that with my planned setup, I will not need the front bar...

Update.
I have installed a set of STI pink springs as well as hardened Group N top Mounts. I have also gone to Ferodo DS2500 Brake pads and ATE Brake Fluid. The Pads I will highly recommend for anyone who needs a balance between AutoCross, Street and some track.

I finished 2nd in Street Tire (ESP) Class in Reno Region SCCA. Our region runs a whole street tire class which is very competitive, so I was quite pleased with my performance.
