I bought my first 2006 Subaru STI in the fall of 2011, and immediately fell in love with it. I bought it used off someone on craigslist, and the car already had a couple of mods on it. - Apexi N1 Coilovers - Walbro 255lph fuel pump - Kartboy short shifter w/ bushings Pictures: Videos: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGnBzZhBMhM"]Kenny's STI - YouTube[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5cl3DfuIcw"]Kenny's STI - YouTube[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjsIqEOM1I4"]Kenny's STI - YouTube[/ame] Full Mod List: Engine/Power/Performance: Cobb V2 Access Port - Stage 2 Tune Walbro 255lph fuel pump Koyo Aluminum Racing Radiator Exhaust: Stock (Smog Time!) 2 Weeks ago, my stock radiator cracked between the plastic and aluminum crimp. I purchased a new Koyo Aluminum Racing Radiator and installed it the day before my next autocross. The install took about 45 minutes (most of the time was spent draining and filling the coolant). Great radiator! I would highly recommend it.

The new radiator worked out great! No over heating issues and the car stayed cool the whole time.
After the second autocross this season, it was obviously my car needed 1 thing...TIRES! My current setup is stock BBS wheels with cheap, $70, auto-guard tires. Since that current tire setup is GREAT for daily driving, i decided to picked a dedicated wheel and tire setup. Wheels: Picked up a new set of wheels from VEX Motorsports in the bay area. I picked these wheels because they are lighter than stock and I didn't want a to modify the fenders have to get too much camber to the point it wasn't functional. Tires: After researching which 200 series tire I wanted to go with, I decided on a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R. I was going to go stock tire size, but they are sold out nation wide! Because of this, I decided to go up a couple sized and go with 245/40R17. Going the small tire size will help a little bit with the acceleration, along with the light weight. Hub Centric Rings: Since the RPF1s have a hub diameter of 73mm, and the stock STI hub size is 56mm, i picked up a set of hub centric rings to make sure my wheels are centered on the hub. 4 pieces - Hubcentric Rings - 73.1mm OD to 56.1mm ID - Black Poly Carbon Hubrings Lug Nuts: Since the stock lug nuts won't work, I picked up some Muteki lug nuts. They come with a thin walled socket to ensure I don't scratch my wheels. Mounted: Got the wheels mounted for a good price at pepboys. No scratches, and everything was great! Finally, everything installed! Can't wait to try these out at the next autocross! Next autocross will be July 9th. I'll update everyone then! |
