WTB: Motor Mounts / Tranny Mount (also need expert i-club opinion)
Hey guys,
Posting here before I go buy new. Maybe someone can also shed some light.
Long story short: I installed my Tomei header, disconnected the motor mounts to jack the engine so that I could slip the stock up pipe out and the ewg up pipe in. Ever since then I get crazy vibrations 50% of the time when blipping my throttle stopped. Also, when driving certain potholes, bumps, or when I shift will make my car sound like it has a blown front passenger strut, it's getting worse and worse and yesterday even sounded like the driver side.
Watchu guys think? Motor mount? Tranny mount? Both?
The motor mounts were torqued back on and definitely aren't loose.
Let me know your thoughts and or if you have mounts (pretty much only looking for new).
IIRC someone on here also makes the mounts, anyone got their screen name?
Thanks!
-Chase

This is my concern with my car sitting on jack stands and my motor jacked up so i can do the oil pan and i have had it like that for a week while waiting on a tool and part. I didnt loosen or remove the tranny mount and wonder if this is stretching it or what. Now you have me wondering. Its funny no directions mention the tranny mount either.

Thanks, hoping he'll chime in here. I don't have Facebook and I don't think he's too active on Instagram - I see several unanswered questions / attempts to buy on his Instagram.

Chase on a serious note. I just did my oil pickup and installed an sti oil pan. When I jacked my motor up the actual mount was loose. The mount bushing is mounted to a metal mount which bolts to the block. On mine the two bolts for the mount bushing were totally loose. I would try unbolting the motor mounts again jacking the motor up a little and try wiggling the motor mounts to see if the bushings are loose.

Stock? Let me know, I may need them but I'm leaning towards aftermarket because why not. Still not 100% sure though. Thanks
