Want to trade locally for a quieter 3" turbo back! in SF, CA.
I just picked up a 2004 Forester XT. Being a long time DSMer(since 1997), this is my first Subaru so bear with me while I learn the ropes.
I got the car with a Turbo back exhaust installed on it. I don't know who made the exhaust parts. The previous owner said it's a 3" WBR Performance cat back with a 3" catless downpipe (he didn't know the brand). I don't know what "WBR" is and when I looked at the downpipe, I saw "BBP" stamped on it.
The 3" turbo back is a little too loud for my tastes but my 3 year old girl loves it. I may try to get a friend to weld a cat on the downpipe. I used to have a 3" turbo back on my DSM with a Thermal Research muffler and it was really quiet and I'm trying to achieve the same sound level. I'm not trying to go all out modifying the car anyway so I prefer to have a cat on the car (save the environment!).
If anyone wants to trade, come check it out. I'm going to drop the exhaust anyway sometime this week so I can put the stock exhaust on and get it smogged. I may just put an STI exhaust on and leave it at that, even if it's only 2.5" and may cost some performance benefits. I think this exhaust *SHOULD* fit 2004-2007 wrx/sti's. From doing my research, it looks like this is an exhaust made for 2004-2007 wrx/sti's but also fits 2004 FXT but the tip doesn't stick out far enough to clear the reat bumper valence on a the FXT.
Posting here on the regional board, before I post on the national board.
Suggestions are welcomed. Thanks for your time.

I think my options right now are:
My first option is to trade someone for another 3" exhaust, being quieter than mine.
Second, weld a bottle resonator on the midpipe + weld a cat onto the 3" downpipe
Third and last resort, STi exhaust, with a cost to performance.
