ultra rare FULL TITANIUM Invidia N1 catback exhaust 02-07 wrx /sti.
 

I have an ultra rare FULL TITANIUM Invidia N1 catback exhaust for 02-07 wrx /sti. This thing is amazingly light. You can play toss with an infant with this thing. Has dent in back of can and a few smaller ones on underside of pipe but they're not seen on vehicle and do not affect fitment. Was $1800 new, asking $550 or best offer. Txt me 916-606-4181


Edit 04/21/14: took exhaust to fabricator who removed most of the dents...asking $400 now

you're telling me that huge crease and bend doesn't effect fitment?

It certainly must affect flow... damn.

Poor exhaust. Do the dents make it Ultra rare as opposed to the typical rare item. ;-)

It got scraped against a speed bump I'm guessing. This was on an 04 sti before which was not mine, and the guy wanted something quieter. If you think that significantly affects performance, you probably shouldn't be buying used parts. You probably get more gains from this due to the fact it's so light. There's a bend in that section already pre-curb smash. Not as bad as it looks IMO but I guess there's a lot of Subie pre-madonnas out there that can't see I'm definitely being reasonable.

We're talking 20lbs here dude. Sure the exhaust is lighter, but that has nothing to do with increasing performance.

You do know how exhausts work right? They transport the hot air to the back of your car.

A 100lb exhaust of the same size is going to do that exactly the same way a 10lb one will, because 3'' tubing is 3'' tubing.

No that's absolutely not what I said. Gains as in performance as in 0-60, cornering, etc---whatever you're looking for. Gain doesn't mean power necessarily. Someone should gain some insight before posting for example. You're reducing weight which improves performance. My point was that a reduction in weight will probably be greater than the performance gain difference between this and one without a dent. I would love to see your dyno charts that show how much a 4cm dent affects whp.

If someone likes the sound of the exhaust I guess they could have the damaged portion replaced by a muffler shop...

If you think 20lbs is going to have that much of an affect on 0-60 or cornering then go ahead and think that.

The curb weight of an 02-07 WRX is around 3200lbs.

20lbs is 0.6% of the total weight.

If you can notice that while driving then you're a wizard.

Now, to the exhaust.

You said there is a 4cm dent in it.

And we have a 3'' diameter exhaust.

4cm is just over 1.5''

That's a 50% reduction in airflow in that area where the dent is.

That is quite significant.

All that air needs to get out. And when it's all trying to get through a smaller opening, it's going to create backpressure and uneven flow.

As you can see from the diagram, only the amount of air that can pass through the dent will get by efficiently (~50%). So past the dent, even though you have 3'' of diameter, only about 1.5'' of diameter's worth of air will be going through.

If you think that won't create more of a difference than 20lbs of metal then go ahead and think that.

And to add, I just posted that price per recommendations. It clearly says or best offer. Don't understand why people can't shoot their offers even if they're low rather than stating their discontent with the item what I'm posting. You need some more hobbies.

That's the difference between a 2.25'' exhaust and a 3'' exhaust.

That's a .75'' difference, or about 1.9cm.

Certainly a difference in power.

And you said your dent was about 4cm? That certainly won't have an effect now will it...

The 4cm dent is not 4cm straight to the center of the cylinder. Thanks for the unnecessary lecture on bernoulli's principle and A1V1=A2V2 though. I would love to know where you got your physics degree from. I would say there is maybe a 1.5% reduction in volume at that section in the cylinder. This exhaust is about sound and looks. You can't seen the dents when they're on the car. Just trying to sell this exhaust. I clearly stated the dents and price reduction in the beginning. I'd suggest Prozac.

Nobody in their right mind would pay anything close to that for a used, busted up version of that same exhaust. Even if it does make the car 0.6% lighter.
