FS: Toyo R888 255/40/17
I have a set of brand new Toyo R888 255/40/17 tires.
these tires were only used to test fit tire/wheel combo...they are brand new. Retail new these are $225 a tire ($900 a set) Letting these go for:****SOLD**** see pics below (you can see all the knubs are still on the tires): *these require at min a 17x8.5 wheel and are for an agressive fitment on a subie -Noah |
Do I get a $500 discount on them if I get an oil change? LOL!
Bump for my white, gas pumping, pepto drinkin, UFC fighting, sprinkler dancing homie! |

Damn to big for stock rims I think. Thanks again for the Cusco mounts on Saturday.
Brandon Edit - Just seen your comment about 8.5" rim |
If these were 245/40/17 I would pick them up right now, but I'm not sure I can make a 255 work with my setup, 245 is already pushing it... any chance I can do a quick test fit before buying? Don't need to mount them necessarily, just hold them up in the wheel well. But if you have others in the same size mounted on a 9" wheel I could test fit, that would be even better.

we ran 255's on a 17x8.5" Wheel. these at min need a 8.5" to a 9" wheel. 9" is more ideal as these tires (Toyo's in general) run......W I D E

its a first come first serve basis, no we won't allow test fitments, as it wouldnt give any regard to how it would really fit anyways...see notes below in order to make this tire combo fit on any subaru, it requires extensive fender modifications and pulling. On our 04 sti we had to cut the inner fenders off and pull them very agressively. FYI- THESES TIRES are for track use but are DOT approved for street (but you wouldn't get much more than 5k miles out of them or less). -Noah |
I have aggressively pulled fenders, and also run decent camber (-2.7 front, -1.8 rear) which allows 245's to BARELY tuck... we're taking maybe 2mm of clearance tops, but they have never rubbed. So I think I might be able to make 255 work. I'm more concerned about the increased OD than the increased width actually, I have a feeling that at my ride height they'll rub the inner liners badly like 235/45/17 did.

again your 245 maybe be A LOT slimmer than a Toyo 255. we found that Toyo is one of the widest tires on the market.
I would suggest getting the specs of your current tires and compare to these: Size: 255/40ZR17 Rim Width: 8.5-9.0-10.0 Overal Diameter: 25.1 Overall Width:10.4 Tread Depth: 6/32 its just a matter of comparing the mathematics of it ;) -Noah |
I currently run the 235/40/17 R888 (track-only setup, on 17x9 +40) and 245/35/18 Kumhos as DD, both clear fine, but barely.
By the numbers, I don't think these will work for me without even more fender work... such a good price though... if you ever happen to have a similar deal with either 235/40/17 or 245/40/17 I'll be first in line for them. |
Toyo R888
Size:245/40ZR17 Rim Width:8.0-8.5-9.5 Overal Diameter:24.7 Overall Width:9.8 Tread Depth: 6/32 Its way wider than your current setup by 0.50" :( -Noah |
