FWIW, I have always charged just enough to keep myself in the business and stay true to my quality standards. I know how it can look from the customer's point of view, but I can promise you that none of us specialty shop owners are getting rich by any means. I personally make less than half of what I used to make in my previous profession but I still do it because I enjoy the work and the people.
Oh and I also enjoy being able to wear my Snap-On flip flops to work in the summer so no need to bash
