2011 WRX Downpipe Problem

So I might have a slight problem...I was in the process of changing out my stock downpipe to the COBB Catted Downpipe. I got every single bolt off except the very tricky one. I tried and tried and just couldn't get it off! This thing is insane! It is to the point of being stripped if not already. What should I do? Should I just put everything back together and take it to the shop or just keep trying?

Soak it every hour or so for half a day and tapping it with a ball peen hammer. Try again. If it is still stuck you can it up with a small torch (keep a water spray bottle handy for flare ups) Now try backing it out. Still stuck?? keep the nut hot and the bolt cold, heat makes metal expand and cold makes it contract. Still stuck?? Split the nut off the bolt with a nut splitter.

Good luck bud!

Hopefully your stud is okay after doing what the others have recommended. Have an extra nut ready too.

Everything worked out great. A guy at the base hobby shop got it off with a pair of mini vice grips! It was insane how he got it off.

the downpipe bolts tend to seize up, don't forget the magic anti seize when you are installing the new bolts!
