There were seven holes; four on the right and three on the left.
I used metal putty to seal them up. You can buy it at most hardware stores. I used blue tape for a while to hide the holes while I let the putty cure for a couple months.
Here's the kicker... my local paint shop wanted $500 to repaint just the trunk, so I've been looking for the last 6 months for another solution/connection.
