i found what you were referring to:
PERRIN Performance — — Wing Riser Kit

GR sti hatch wing riser

looks pricey for a bunch of washers and spacers, but 4* and better flow could be beneficial. so hard to find rear downforce for hatchbacks...

Hey man that was me!

Yeah it's kinda hard to say I wish they had a video of it with the car further back so I could get a good look but over all it's pricey as you said for a bunch of home depot supplies. Plus it also restricts you don openin the hatch all the way with sucks. I think I'm going to just throw that m3 lip spoiler on the hatch wing and call it a day.

might be a dumb question but have you guys thought about Vortex generators on the roof like an evo?

I might get that trunk lip spoiler

from what i understand, the vortex generators have little benefit for a hatch design. on a sedan, the vortex generator straightens out the air so it's more effective when it reaches the rear spoiler.

on the hatch, it would straighten out the air so it would be more streamlined and aerodynamic for high speed pulls, but wouldn't do much in terms of downforce.

Thanks for the link!

I think we might be better off looking at the Varis rear under tray for aero rather then things on the top of the wing. Doesn't seem to be much of a market for wings on hatches and with the release of the sedan i don't expect to see more stuff made for the hatches anytime soon. Oh well.

so what if you were to do a Vortex Generator + a Perrin Wing lift kit? maybe that would induce more downforce, since you did mention that it is more effective when it reaches the spoiler on a sedan. Would be cool to figure out what happens.

I might buy vortex generators for the lolz on my 2.5i.
