Lightbulb general legacy stuff

Well im new to the subaru stuff. But im into wagons.

I saw a legacy outback for sale around my house (Michigan)for 4 grand. 5 spd, i think its a 99'. But it has 100,000 miles on it. should i be conserned or what?

is that to many miles/ It wont stay stock. Are there any major problems that the legacy is known for?

Head gasket failure is the only known problem. It can go at any time, usually more miles the more likely it will be a problem. I forget what kind of engine this usually happens on, the DOHC or SOHC. However having 100,000 miles on a car is not a bad think at all. If you really interested in the car, take to a mechanic and have them check it out for you. Subaru's last a long time and can take a lot of abuse before they go.

What kind of modifications do you plan on doing to the car?

well tell me what you think of this.

Blacked out body with volk wheels (Not sure what type)
Full roll cage
Bride or sparco buckets up front
JIC FL-AT2 Coil overs
Full JIC Titinum exaust
H.I.D.'s
Full JIC Supension
Brembo Brakes
Cryo-treated drivetrain
6-spd
Turbo charged (im not sure if the legasy comes turbo charged?)

Basicly... I want a Wangan Wagon.
I want it to reach a max speed of 200mph and still street driven.

Can it happen? I think so.

Don't buy an OB if you want to totally rebuild it, there's some different suspension parts that may cause problems if it's scraping the ground.........That said, you can get it close

On CO's with Rays wheels, close enough for ya?

no the legacy didnt come turbo'd
and yes all that is possible but be ready to pay for it, your plans show a large budget which makes me wonder, why not WRX wagon?

200mph could probably happen if you transplant one of the old Legacy turbo engines/wrx engine/STi engine into it.

But it won't happen with the engine that came stock in a '99 OB.

If you are looking for a 'wangan wagon' and have a bit of money to set aside, you might want to stick around for the Turbo Legacy/Outback due out in a month or two.
