Fastest '05 Legacy GT...
Hi All,
Trying to find out who has the fastest 1/4 ET for a 05MY legacy GT? Any input would be appreciated. Reason being, I believe I hold the record at 13.187 @ 104.48. Stock vf40 Stock weight 18" rims KB short shifter Perrin DP TXS UP NFP Custom cat-back HKS EVC4 @ 1.1 bar UTEC on stock map NFP Custom FMIC Everything else is stock. Thanks! |
track slips ?
|
I would scan the slip but the scanner is in storage and I'm lazy... here's the best slip. I backed up that run with a 13.198 @ 103.85 as well...
Best so far: Cecil County Dragway 6/1/05 7:56pm Temp F. 64 Rel Humidity: 29 Absolute Press.: 29.25 R/T ... .418 (concentrating on 60' lol) 60' ... 1.921 (best 60' so far) 330 ... 5.493 1/8 ... 8.462 mph ... 83.31 1000 ... 11.023 1/4 ... 13.187 mph ... 104.48 |
You must have some pretty mean top-end. If you can get a better 60 ft. time, your et would drop to mebbe high 12s?
|
Yeah the 60's are the hard part with this car. I've tried every variation of launching... me thinks it's the "ma-n-pa" tranny/clutch that keeps me from beating 1.9x
|
Out of curiosity, how much does your car weigh? How's your gearing? at what rpms are you launching at? I would very much like to see a LGT at the tracks one night. Those are some pimp quick whips! :D
I have a Forester XT and can get 1.7 second 60 ft times, but only get 14.0s.....due to my puny TD04. |
Oh, and are you dragging your car w/those 18s on? I think reducing the size of your rolling stock may yield quicker times (and launches).
|
yeah dragging full weight plus my ass in it = one heavy ass car. I believe the advertised curb weight is 3200 + heavy 18" + amps for system + my ass + spare tire + extra **** like FMIC piping + carputer ****... I wouldn't be surprised if it weighed in at 3600-3700. I definately have to try different wheels... my buddy has a set of stock wrx rims (light) so I may try them out, and ditch the spare too lol.

Sorry to butt in but i got some more tips for getting a quicker time and lightening you LGT. First off besides getting everything outta you car that isnt necessary you can also turn your monitor on your dash to how many miles you have left on the tank of fuel you have and run it down till it says between 30 & 50 and you can always carry a fuel can with you if need be, say if you run outta fuel you aint s.o.l...... and i have a question....at any time do you loose any traction? depending on your hp/tq its kinda hard to do.... but if so you can let some air outta you tires mainly the front ones,,, how much air to let out, i dont know its something you have to play with, its all depending on how much power your putting out but either way itll help a little even if you take a little air outand the more you take out youll feel the difference. but youll notice if you let too much out youll start to loose power. and you might want to go bact to your stock 17s'. and what kind of shifting technique do you use? around here i use what we call power shifting which is never lifting the gas pedal from the floor after you get started and very quickly depressing the clutch at the same time shifting. and if your quick enough youll minimize the damage to your clutch. and you can also go to sunoco gas station and some do sell i believe it is 103 octane and run that in you tank. and to get you best times its always best to run on a fresh oil change. but i hope i could be some help to you, youll see me around.

So I guess you do have the fastest LGT. We'll bad news.. I'm coming affer you :). I've got a LGT project to begin soon.. Reflash, Down/Up pipes, Full exhaust(3" all the way), and maybe STI Turbo + Injectors to come later. How does the stock TMIC hold up with all those mods?
