Hawaii Impreza Club- Toys For Tots Cruise 2004
Sunday- November 28, 2004
It was a successful day for HIIC as we teamed up with 200+ car enthusiasts and the USMC. For those who are not familiar with Toys For Tots - it is a charitable event that brings toys(and food) to needy children...just in time for Christmas! By the end of the event there was a trailer full of toys and a truckload of food donated!
Our event started with the bulk of our group meeting at Kakaako Waterfront park at 8 a.m. From there we ventered through the world famous Waikiki in parade fashion ending up in Kapiolani Park.(drop-off site) From there several of us went through Diamond Head then cruising on through Sandy Beach. Then the few "die hards" ventured on to Matsumotos on the North Shore to end the day.
Overall there were about 50 cars that represented the subie community- The majority being wrx, sti's and wagons. There were 2 forester XT's and one SVX!(bringing it back!) Of all the car clubs we had the largest turnout - which was very impressive considering the list of clubs that attended. There were 30 car clubs in attendance.
A very special thanks to the USMC for heading this up and making it a real success. By the end of the day TFT had collected 3,000 toys and canned foods!
Also a big MAHALO to bpang1 and mehlt for taking initiative in making our event organized and fun. And of course to sneezerboi our official media guy.
