looks like an altezza and a saab had a crack baby... hahaaa... i agree with those who say it looks pretty cool on the cusco car but in real life?.... not rilly loving the grille

 

The front end looks hot, it give a much more aggressive aerodynamic look ( less boxy)

 

Best looking Impreza EVER! Last model headlights were stolen off a 2001 Corolla and that made me sad.

You can kind-of see the family resemblance. Unfortunately he had to work within the corporate, desing, and budgetary confines of Subaru. The result is somewhat of a compromise that I persaonally dont' like much. It is a bit short of wild. If you are going to make something different, you have to make it so over-the-top and outrageous that it is trully unique ("Its so ugly, its beautiful!" sort of thing). Instead Subaru chose a safer route to appeal to a larger audience. This resulted in a design that is not "so ugly, its beautiful!" but rather just plain "so ugly, its ugly!"
But then again, looks are always a personal preference (there are people that think Camry is the best looking car in the world...)

I wanted/want to own Subarus for the rest of my life but if they keep making cars that look like this... not going to own past a '05. JGTC car nice, production car ugly.

 

I talked to a guy who worked for Subaru and was showing off the new B9 Tribeca (Ugly as sin)...he said that the reason Subaru changed the new front grill was kind of to bring it back old school. He said something about the front grill looking like an air plane? Cause Subaru used to make airplanes or air plane engines? That's what I got out of it. Not sure if it's totally true...I might seem gullable at times...but IMO I don't like the 06 WRX/STi's style much either from the new front grill to the alteeza looking rear tail lights. But from what I under stand.. the standard WRX non STi has a 2.5 block under the hood...I wouldn't mind a 2.5 block under my 05' hood...

 

The front facia of those Alpha Romeos actually looks good.. each vehicle has its own character.. while the 06 Impreza on the other hand.. hmm.. I need time to get used to..

 

Agreed. I hated it until I saw one in person. I like it just fine. This was a black WRX still on the carrier. I parked next to an 06 STI while Xmas shopping and I immediately wanted it.
