Well, that STi hoodscoop isn't the USDM '04 STi hoodscoop, it's the 02'-'03 STi hoodscoop, which is the same style as the US '02-'03 STi hoodscoop, just bigger. It's actually very nice.

And the web page says it is pre-painted, meaning it's painted WRB and then shipped to you, so you get it, install it and you're golden.

Oh, and for a new STi scoop, it's a good deal. Sometimes you can find used ones in the BAIC classifieds or "for sale" forums for less, but for brand new SHIPPED, $185 is a rockin deal.

 

thanx;but what is the difference between the 02-03 scoop vs 04 sti scoop,i know the sti 04 scoop is big and this is what i want.

The 04 scoop won't fit on an 02/03 hood (the shape of the base is different)

 

The 02-03 STi scoop looks just like the factory 02-03 scoop but it is about an inch or so bigger.

 

By "sti" it means that it's jdm sti for the 02 japanese market car. I have one on my 02 wrx, and it fits perfect. That is a great price. Beware though of color matching though. I've heard of vendors that don't quite paintmatch the scoop very well. I got mine from Kastle's Korner, and the paintmatch was superb.

 

Really I doubt that subyDude sell crap but what about the price of your scoop? .$$$$$

 

im not too sure on this but i think that the STi scoop that Subydude is selling comes painted from japan. i got an STi grill from him and it was already painted. its a good price and suby dude is a great vendor.

The STi hoodscoop from 2004 USDM will not fit the '02-'03 hood. As stated, the base is different. You may be able to find some replica '04 scoops that do fit the hood, but I don't know where.

The STi hoodscoop you're looking at on subydudes site is a jdm STi scoop for an'02-'03 model year car. This car was not sold in the US. This scoop looks just like the stock '02-'03 scoop, only it's a little taller. It is a direct replacement of your stock scoop. It is a kick *** piece. That is a kick *** price.
