Mother's Billet Polish. It works wonders; small miracle in a jar
I "inherited" a straight pipe with Lord knows how many miles on it, and this polish took off all 37 layers of road grime, oxidation, carbon deposits, and general filth with 30 minutes of generous scrubbing

BTW, thanks for lending it to me Rockin!
Is it's stainless steel, the polishing stuff might not work. If you are just trying to get the dirt off and get it back to the way it was, it should work. But if it wasn't polished to begin with, you will need polishing compound designed for stainless steel.
