replacing headlights

i had the same problem yesterday
to start, grab some pliers and wrap the teeth in duct tape once to keep from tearing the rubber around the headlight; then just grip it an pull it off (which is towards the rear of the car).
next is the large rubber ring, underneath you will feel a lip which you use to just pull it off.
finally, there will be a metal clip to squeeze together and, ta-da!!, the bulb comes right out.
i did use pliers (small channel lock) to remove my plug from the bulb and did not have any problems but, i won't guarantee that you will have the same luck
