Hood Scoop

I need a new hood scoop, and ill probably go with a seibon carbon fiber one, but im just curious if any one has experience with that scoop... does the screen restrict flow? if i took it out would it look stupid being able to see the splitter? also, does anyone know of a good carbon scoop without a mesh screen? and whats the difference between a JDM scoop and an USDM scoop, if any?

thanks guys

IMO, the only drawback about CF scoop is that it is sitting above the hottest area in the motor and will definitely crack over time.

I'd guess the screen is removable. I don't think the scoops are different, but the splitters are because the JDM TMIC is slightly different.

i see, i figured id go with the CF cause then i dont have to match paint, i thought it would save me a little trouble, also, i have the JDM splitter, and an STI scoop, although im not sure if its a USDM scoop or a JDM scoop

also i didnt know that CF cracked, i had a CF smoke stack on my diesel pickup, and i never had any problems with it, but it was only on there for 6 months.

thanks for the input

I don't think the CF itself will crack, just the clear/gel coat.
