Fuel level sensor issue.. PLEASE help!!

Hi all.

I had an issue with my old fuel level sensor that it was never reading full (always at 3/4 tank) and it had fluctuating irrelative readings from a startup to another.

I didn't find an Sti's fuel level sensor at my area and the agent advised that the regular non-turbo charged 1.6/2.0 L. impreza's would just fit perfectly.

Well it did and it is reading full now, but the issue is that it is very sensitive to an extent that you can feel every KM driven is affecting the reading (For 20 miles driven, 1st quarter tank was gone).

Does it have anything to do that the non-turbo charged fuel level sensors aren't suitable to Sti's or am i having another issue?

How can I solve it!!

Appreciating any kind of help.

Thanks Gents.

I would also like to add that after my search and inquiries some are telling me there would be a problem with the fuel "sub" level sensor located on the other side of the tank. is it the case? the suggested i replace both fuel level sensor and fuel sub level sensor.

Appreciating your help.
