I didn't try to open it up yet but has anybody had a similar problem ? I just bought the car off a private owner for a project . Needs some body work and timing chain work .

1) Open it; if you have trouble with that, this "project" may not be for you
2) "Doesn't work" has become a new peeves of mine for its telling nothing about the nature of the malfunction. Is it flickering, off altogether? My clock does not light/display anything as the connections have been cut altogether. If it is the resistor fix for your clock, and you cannot or don't feel confortable soldering (on SMT parts no less), used clocks can be had for $30-50. HTH |
I lost my soldering iron in a move. I took my clock to a Best Buy and paid their audio installer $5 to do it.

+1 A vast majority of the time, this is the cause of the problem. Fixed mine the same way a couple years ago and its been fine since. |
