Battery Relocation

Hey to anyone who might have a clue or experience.

I have an '02 with a stage IV upgrade including a relocated intercooler, the pipes for the intercooler make things tight for the battery. I'm curious if anyone has attempted to move the battery to the trunk and run into any issues I might have to deal with...

thanks in advance!

How crazy you want to go? I did one into the back seat (or whee the seat had been). Was one of the three best mods I did in MN (Syn oil and an ignition were the others).

Use a Marine battery box and welding cable (big with lots of strands, means lots of ability to move current) Put it on the opposite of the driver for balance. I never had a problem and I never had trouble starting in the cold again

If you are relocating the battery to the trunk it's best to use a sealed battery like an Optima, this will avoid any issues with potential acid spillage and minimize gas venting. You'd still need to use a vented enclosure for proper safety.

OK. sound advice from both you guys. I was planning on using the Summit Battry relocation kit - comes with a vented black plastic box and straps.

As far as the cable to the front, was planning on using 0 ga.

With the stereo equipment I have, not sure it would bother to be directly behind the driver... I'll think on it some more. B4 I visit the track, I plan on removing the subs...
