Can't stop bragging about this modification on my friend's new 2006 WRX sport wagon
He picked up a light duty trailer hitch so that he can carry bikes on the rear of the car. But he wanted to paint the black hitch the same as the body color. After a quick test fit, I prepped, primed and painted with rattle cans.

Do you mind posting up what type of paint (brand, color, etc.), primer, and the steps you used? Nothing too elaborate I just wanto know the basics. I'd like to do this also. It looks very nice!

All products were Duplicolor from Autozone. The silver/grey color is T183 Gray (M for metallic). I wiped down the hitch with acetone to degrease. Then lightly sanded with 400. Wipe and shoot primer coats. Sprayed several coats of the grey metallic. This was a little tricky with the drawbar area near the chain loops. Then sprayed several coats of the acrylic clear coat. I didn't bother sanding between any of the coats since the final finish was pretty good.
