2002 to 2004 Front End Conversion

I found a conversion kit on the internet to put a 2004 impreza front end on my 2002. It only listed fenders, headlights, hood, bumper, and grill. Does anyone know if this will work, or know anyone who has done this?

Um, you'd be better off selling the 02 and buying an 04

I saw the kit for sale on ebay today. I think that it will probably work fairly well but might not be worth it. If your not gonna do all the work yourself then it would probably be about the same price to trade in your 02 and get an 04. Dont forget that you need to get it painted. And installing body kits can be tricky as far as fitment goes.

The radiator support is different too.
You need cut and weld..

Mission Accomplished! I did the conversion and it didnt go very easy but it worked. The core support was different so I had to cut out a bigger hole for the headlight to fit into and adjust the headlight brackets, but over all turned out very nice.

I would love to have 02/03 taillights on my 04.

Besides, wouldn't that be much easier to do? Seems that if indeed the 02 and 04 taillights are the same basic shape, that it would only involve some minor rewiring and filling up the round hole in the rear bumper..

Just a thought .

woah woah!! pics pics!! cost cost !! and where did you find the conversion kit??? i want to do that to my 03 rs!!

twistedsymphony Oct 25, 2003 09:57 AM

I thought about doing that conversion because I like the body kits available for the 04 more than the 02-03....

what I was thinking is I'd just buy the aftermarket bumper/hood/headlights I want and find some original 04 fenders... then viola the aftermarket front end I like....

that would definilty be cheaper than trading in my 02 or even buying one of those conversion kits and then replacing every part again ....

asside from the fenders I can't imagine it would cost anymore than just replacing the 02 parts with afermarket 02 parts...

I'm holding out till veilside makes a kit for the 04... I emailed and asked if they were ever comeing out with a kit for the WRX they said definilty not the 02 style but they're developing an 04 :D
