Well, the tail-light has been rear-ended in the past so I just ended up replacing it anyway...

Next time, I'll just replace the bulb like some of you suggested.

Start at the easiest/most obvious cause of an issue and work up the ladder from there...

^ Okay, thanks for the advice you didn't have to grill me that hard...

If it was in perfect condition and wasn't f-ed up from other drivers crashing into my car I definitely would have assumed it was just the light, but I thought it was something worse. I ended up getting a replacement one w/ newer bulbs on e-bay for $35. Problem solved.

1) you never said there was any previous damage done to the light, so how is everyone else supposed to know that...
